Tourism revenues during this past March, a period when the military conflict in Iran broke out, were reduced by 33.8%.

For the January - April period, the decrease in tourism revenues is lower, at 11.8%, because high rates of arrivals and revenues had been recorded in January and February, continuing the momentum that had developed throughout 2025, a record year for tourist arrivals.

According to the results of the passenger survey conducted by the Statistical Service, tourism revenues in March 2026 amounted to €85.6 million, showing a decrease of 33.8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (€129.4 million).

For the period January – March 2026, tourism revenues are estimated at €245.5 million compared to €278.3 million during the corresponding period of 2025, marking an 11.8% decrease.

Regarding the expenditure analysis, the per capita expenditure of tourists in March 2026 amounted to €615.27 compared to €644.65 in March 2025, recording a decrease of 4.6%.

Tourists from the United Kingdom, the largest tourist market with 32.9% of total tourists in March 2026, spent an average of €69.01 daily, while Polish tourists, the second largest tourist market during that specific month with 12.6% of the total, spent an average of €81.99.

German tourists, the third largest market with 10.8%, spent €77.88 daily.

Based on the survey, tourists are considered to be visitors who stay at least one night in Cyprus.

Regarding tourist arrivals, the term refers to the number of visits and not to the number of individual persons.

This differs in the sense that one person can make more than one visit during the given reference period.
