CUT Achieves Advancement in QS Rankings for Sustainability

Ranked Among the Top 31% of Universities Globally

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has achieved a significant milestone in the latest QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025, demonstrating remarkable progress across various evaluation criteria.

According to the university’s announcement, CUT now ranks 740th out of 1,743 universities globally, a substantial improvement from its position in the 1201+ category last year. This leap places CUT among the top 31% of universities in the region, ranking 205th out of 661 institutions.

The QS Sustainability Rankings assess the social and environmental impact of universities, considering their roles as educational and research institutions and as large employers navigating the challenges of sustainable operations. The evaluation is based on three main pillars: environmental impact, social impact, and governance.

“The significant improvement in our ranking highlights CUT’s commitment to advancing sustainability initiatives,” the announcement states. “It reflects the university’s systematic efforts in designing and implementing innovative strategies for sustainable development, enhancing the quality of campus life, and contributing positively to society.”

CUT’s initiatives actively promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. These efforts are seamlessly integrated into the university’s strategies, policies, and procedures, fostering a culture of sustainability and ethical governance.

The university also underscores its dedication to spearheading initiatives that promote sustainable development, social responsibility, and ethical governance.

“Maintaining our high performance is a top priority for CUT. Through continuous effort, hard work, and commitment to our strategic goals, we aim to further enhance areas that require improvement,” the announcement concludes.
