Cypriot Students Win Medals at 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad in Dubai
Three students from Cyprus secure medals and honors among 350 participants from 94 countries at the prestigious 57th IChO.
Cypriot students returned from Dubai with distinctions and accolades after representing their country at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2025, held from July 5 to 14, 2025, in the United Arab Emirates.
According to a press release by the Pancyprian Union of Chemist Scientists, three female students and one male student represented Cyprus at this globally recognized competition, which serves as a bridge between the past, present, and future of chemistry.
More than 350 students from 94 countries participated in this year’s Olympiad, showcasing their knowledge and skills in theoretical and experimental chemistry.

The Cypriot team was accompanied and guided by mentors Dr. Maria Koyioni, Dr. Yiannis Tsalavoutis, and Maria Tsierkezo, who were responsible for the students’ training and support throughout the Olympiad.

The Pancyprian Union of Chemist Scientists congratulated all four students for their excellent achievements and expressed deep gratitude to the mentors for their unwavering support.
