Cyprus Science Festival sCYence Fair 2025 Showcases Innovation and Young Talent

Over 90 student teams from across Cyprus presented pioneering scientific ideas at this year’s largest celebration of science.

The two-day pioneering science festival sCYence Fair 2025 was successfully completed at the Cyprus Institute on April 4 and 5, 2025.

According to an official announcement by the Cyprus Institute, the rich and diverse program of sCYence Fair 2025 included impressive experiments, interactive games, engaging lectures, remarkable discoveries, and inspiring presentations.

“Ninety teams from primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools across Cyprus participated in the country’s biggest science celebration, showcasing their creative and innovative ideas to the public and competing for unique prizes,” the announcement added.

The festival was officially opened by the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Dr. Athena Michaelidou, in the presence of the President of the Cyprus Institute, Dr. Stavros Malas, and ambassadors of EU member states.

Notably, beyond the traditional school competition, this year’s sCYence Fair also welcomed science enthusiasts of all ages for the first time. Participants shared their scientific research and discoveries with the public, contributing to a broader celebration of scientific exploration.

National embassies from France, Greece, Poland, Hungary, and Sweden also participated with their own exhibition booths.

Organized by the Cyprus Institute under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, the event was supported by major sponsors including ExxonMobil, Deloitte Cyprus, Cyta, XM, Levantina Fish, and the NOESIS Science Dissemination Centre and Technology Museum.
