Allegations of Pressure and Nepotism Rock English School Nicosia
Parents’ Association Files Complaint Over Alleged Exam Tampering
A major controversy has erupted at the English School Nicosia following allegations that members of the school’s Board of Directors pressured the Headmaster to pass a student who had failed the entrance exams. According to reports, the student in question is the child of a board member, raising serious concerns about ethics and integrity in the admissions process.
The issue has been widely discussed since Monday, February 24, and on February 27, the English School Parents’ Association formally filed a complaint. In a letter addressed to the President of the Republic and the Minister of Education, the association demanded an investigation into the alleged interference.
As Offsite/Brief reports, government sources indicate that the matter will be discussed in the Council of Ministers next Wednesday. If the board members implicated in the scandal do not resign voluntarily before then, the government is expected to dismiss them.
