Based on the fact that Cyprus is on top of the list for food waste per capita in the whole of the European Union, The Tales & Treats student company was founded in October 2024 with the main goal to produce organic treats for cats and dogs, using fruits and vegetables that are destined to be thrown away, thus reducing waste and increasing pet health.

The team has designed and developed different products which are treats for our beloved pets, cats and dogs: fruity-paws and veggie-paws, in four different flavors.

All the recipes for the products are approved and endorsed by veterinarians, and the production line, from raw material selection and baking, to packaging and transporting, operates with the outmost adherence to hygiene regulations. 

Despite the challenges faced, and with the huge support of the supervising teacher Ms Stella Frantzidou, they have managed to launch a high quality product, which quickly became sold out in all of our selling events. The team consists of 9 student members who came together, bonded as a team and managed to overcome the challenges that appeared throughout our journey so far. They have managed to do so by hard work, team- building and dedication. 

The Tales&Treats team is hopeful and confident that this is just the start for the company! The vision for the future is to always improve, to develop further and to gain more customers and supporters well beyond the Junior Achievement Student Company Programme and regardless of the competition results.
