Constantinos Herodotou Advocates for Digital Financial Literacy
Educational Initiative Aimed at Empowering Citizens with Digital Financial Knowledge
The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) is actively participating in an educational initiative aimed at enhancing digital financial literacy. This initiative is part of a series of videos created by the CBC, under the coordination of the annual Global Money Week 2024 campaign. The campaign focuses on informing and sensitizing the public, especially the youth, about financial literacy.
In the second video of the series, the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, Mr. Constantinos Herodotou, explains the significant benefits of digital financial literacy. He emphasizes how it enables individuals to make informed and practical decisions regarding their finances. At the same time, Mr. Herodotou stresses the importance of being cautious during digital transactions. He advises the public to protect their personal data and access codes and to use only reliable websites and applications provided by licensed providers.
The theme for Global Money Week 2024, "Protect your money, secure your future," serves as the foundation for these videos. The CBC, through its announcement, calls on mass media outlets to actively participate in this educational endeavor. The CBC encourages them to broadcast and promote these educational videos to the fullest extent possible, thereby contributing to the citizens' protection through increased awareness of financial literacy topics.
