Cyprus Banking Sector Reports €952.5 Million Profits for First Nine Months of 2024
Up from €602.92 million at the end of June 2024.
The total post-tax profits of Cypriot banks for the first nine months of 2024 reached €952.5 million, up from €602.92 million at the end of June 2024, according to updated aggregated data on the Cypriot banking sector published on Tuesday by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).
Net interest income for Cypriot banks amounted to €1.53 billion by the end of September 2024, compared to €1.033 billion at the end of June 2024.
Meanwhile, total net operating income stood at €1.88 billion, rising from €1.22 billion as of June 2024.
Additionally, the total equity capital of Cypriot banks, which is used for insolvency purposes, increased to €6.34 billion at the end of September 2024, compared to €6.31 billion at the end of June of the same year.
Risk-weighted assets (RWA) reached €22.83 billion at the end of September 2024, slightly declining from €22.91 billion recorded at the end of June 2024.
It is worth noting that the total post-tax profits of Cypriot banks for the entirety of 2023 amounted to €1.26 billion.
