Tax Reform: Finance Minister to Chair Economic Advisory Committee Meeting

Government and Social Partners Discuss Preliminary Framework for Tax System Overhaul

Finance Minister Makis Keravnos will chair a meeting of the Economic Advisory Committee on Friday to discuss the preliminary framework for tax reform, as announced on February 26, 2025. The meeting is part of the broader consultation process aimed at advancing fiscal policy changes.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, the framework will be presented during the meeting by the University of Cyprus’s Economics Research Center, which has been tasked with conducting the study.

The meeting will bring together key stakeholders, including the Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, and the Directorate-General for Growth.

Representatives from employer organizations such as the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will also participate, alongside trade unions PASYDY, SEK, PEO, and DEOK.
