Valentina Georgiadou Has Been Appointed as the New Financial Ombudsman
The Tenure of the Financial Ombudsman Is Five Years and Can Be Renewed for Another Five Years
On Wednesday, the Assistant Financial Ombudsman, Valentina Georgiadou, was appointed as the new Financial Ombudsman by the Ministerial Council.
As announced by the Minister of Finance, Makis Keraunos, after the session of the Ministerial Council, "the Administrative Board of the Single Body for the Out-of-Court Resolution of Financial Disputes, having evaluated the applications of those who showed interest and submitted a relevant application, judged that Ms Valentina Georgiadou meets the required qualifications in the best possible way and possesses the skills and experience."
He added that Ms Georgiadou had been an Assistant Financial Ombudsman until today and has now been appointed as the Financial Ombudsman.
The Minister of Finance said that the tenure of the Financial Ombudsman is five years and can be renewed for another five years.
He also mentioned that according to the provisions of the relevant legislation on the establishment and operation of the Single Body for the Out-of-Court Resolution of Financial Disputes (the well-known Financial Ombudsman law), the Financial Ombudsman is appointed by the Ministerial Council after taking into account the recommendation of the Administrative Board of the Single Body.
