The 4th Gender Equality Promotion Festival, Femme Fest Comes to Cyprus
Equality Takes the Stage at the Nicosia Municipal Garden!
Cyprus is currently ranked 113th out of 146 countries in the Global Gender Index. Equality is not a given – nor will it come on its own. It requires voices, presence, and demands. That’s why the Femme Fest Cyprus returns for the fourth year: a celebration for those who will not settle for inequality.
On May 24 and 25, the Municipal Garden of Nicosia will transform into a space for inspiration, knowledge, and mobilization.
The festival is organized by the Women's Movement POGO, with the institutional support of the Gender Equality Commissioner’s Office, the hosting of the Municipality of Nicosia, and the support of the Cyprus Youth Organization and the National Mechanism for Women's Rights.
What to expect this year:
• Open discussions on sports, cinema, the multiple identities of women, and sexism in public discourse.
• Empowerment workshops, deconstructing stereotypes, and recognizing genderbased and sexual violence.
• The Femme Talks action, featuring personal stories from women across various fields.
• Artistic performances: music, theater, dance, visual arts.
• Children’s corner with gender-sensitive activities.
• Over 50 booths from organizations, universities, collectives, and creators.
A key feature this year:
Natassa Bofiliou will participate in a discussion on equality, the voice of every woman, and the need for social change.
FEMME FEST Cyprus is a celebration of joy and dynamic presence. An open, colorful space, a platform for meeting knowledge, inspiration, and action. Because equality is not an individual issue – it is a collective challenge that is won through demand, cooperation, and solidarity.
