A small, family-run shop spanning three generations in the village of Politiko, just outside Nicosia, offers a traditional culinary journey. Originally created by grandfather “Phili,” and now run by grandson Mnasos Philemon, it brings the art of traditional charcuterie straight to your plate.

The menu includes a wide variety of sausages, as well as brunch options featuring their handmade cold cuts and free-range eggs. If you want to try a bit of everything, the “Village Platter Boukkoma” won’t disappoint. Another popular choice is the “Popaston,” the Cypriot version of French toast: sweet slices of egg bread perfectly paired with anari cream, jam, and nuts.

If you want to combine a scenic drive with a walk in nature, head to Agia Marina Xyliatou. Its dam is surrounded by a picturesque nature trail, and in the heart of the village you’ll find Boukkoma—a spot that will not disappoint if you stop for a meal.

The menu features traditional bites like sausages, ham, halloumi, and fried eggs, alongside modern options such as pancakes and French toasts. A crowd favorite is the “Avocandenia”—homemade bread spread with avocado, topped with fried eggs, and finished with sweet potato chips. The pancakes are also worth trying, blending sweet and savory flavors: maple syrup with chili flakes drizzled over fluffy stacks layered with crispy bacon and cheese, served with spicy fried chicken bites.

The eatery is located in the public park of Agia Marina, so reservations are not available. Arriving early is recommended.

If you have kids, Riverland Bio Farm in Kampia, just outside Nicosia, is the ideal destination. This well-known organic farm offers a fun experience for all ages, with adorable animals everywhere you turn. Nearby, the Tamasos Dam makes for another great excursion.

To complete your adventure in nature, enjoy the farm’s organic breakfast, prepared exclusively with its own products—halloumi, eggs, yogurt, milk, olives, and vegetables. Highlights include the yogurt with honey and nuts and their kefir.

No list would be complete without a trip to mountainous Limassol—and especially Fotini’s Arkatenia in the picturesque village of Omodos! The local bakery, famous for its arkatenia rusks, is a family business that began in 1935 and now serves a truly unique food experience.

Platters featuring eggs, cheeses, cold cuts, jams, and olives are paired with their artisanal baked goods. Fruit platters with nuts and anari cheese with grape must syrup turn the meal into a delightful shared experience.

The courtyard offers not only crisp mountain air but also views of the stone-built village. A Cypriot coffee is highly recommended!

The menu includes traditional delights such as jams, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, seasonal fruits, and freshly squeezed juices. Standouts include the tsoureki (sweet bread) and pumpkin bread, served with a wide selection of jams, as well as wood-fired bread. Don’t miss the famous mushrooms with eggs dish.
