Carmen by Tbilisi Opera Staged in Paphos Medieval Castle Square
Traffic arrangements announced for smooth access to the Paphos Aphrodite Festival performances.
The Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre, in collaboration for the second consecutive year with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, will present Georges Bizet’s Carmen, one of the most celebrated operas of all time, today Friday and tomorrow Saturday, at the atmospheric Medieval Castle Square in Paphos.
According to an official announcement, special traffic arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth running of the festival and to avoid inconvenience for affected drivers.
On performance nights, checkpoints and guidance posts will operate at the following points:

Apostolou Pavlou Avenue (near the Kings Avenue Mall roundabout)

The junction of Poseidonos Avenue with Pafias Afroditis Street

Poseidonos Avenue (near the Almyra Hotel)
From 6:30 p.m. onwards, access towards the Harbour will not be permitted to those without a valid ticket or entry pass.
Drivers with valid entry will have access to parking at:

The Archaeological Park Parking Area

The space near “Hondros” restaurant

The area behind the Cyprus Ports Authority buildings
-
The open area next to the Archaeological Site Visitor Centre (formerly “Kyklos” Gallery)
Those not attending the festival may park at:

The parking area near the Amavi Hotel (Poseidonos Avenue)

The Apollonos Street Parking Area (near the Kato Paphos Cemetery)
Police officers and members of the Traffic Department will be present at key junctions and along the routes to the Harbour to manage traffic and guide drivers.
Motorists are additionally urged to follow the instructions of officials and road signage to avoid accidents and unnecessary delays.
