CUT Fine Arts Department Participates in Cross-Border "BORDERING/UNBORDERING" Exhibition in Dublin

Students from the Cyprus University of Technology team up with Romanian peers for a unique diplomatic fine arts exhibition exploring porous boundaries at the Cypriot Embassy in Ireland.

A European Academic Alliance in Dublin

The Department of Fine Arts of the School of Fine and Applied Arts at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) is participating in the international exhibition “BORDERING/UNBORDERING”, a cross-border collaboration between Fine Arts students from Cyprus and Romania. A CUT press release says that the exhibition will be hosted at the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Ireland, in Dublin, from 30 June to 1 July 2026. Held under the auspices of Louis Telemachou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Ireland, the exhibition is the result of a collaboration between CUT’s Department of Fine Arts and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, within the framework of the European University of Technology (EUt+) alliance.

Collaborative Student Duos and Curators

Participating artists are Anastasia Zanti & Radu Oana Alessia, Denisa Cristea & Rafailia Christofi, Michalis Ioannou & Dănuț Selever, and Ioana-Laura Lipotean & Maria Antoniou. Curatorial supervision is provided by Yiannis Christidis and Greti Papiu.

Conceptualizing Borders as Porous Spaces

The exhibition proposes the border as a site of movement, negotiation and transformation. "Through their works, the participating artists approach cultural, geographic, political and psychological borders as porous structures, continually crossed, redefined and reimagined through artistic practice, where identities blur, meanings shifts, and new forms of relation emerge" the press release says. The exhibition opening will take place on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at 16:30, at the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Ireland. "CUT’s participation in the exhibition highlights the importance of international collaboration and artistic mobility, strengthening the University’s international outlook while offering its students valuable opportunities for creative expression and intercultural dialogue" it concludes.
