Centenary Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis in Limassol

Cyprus Academy of Sciences and University of Limassol honor the legendary Greek composer with a cultural and musical event, September 2–4, 2025.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis (1925), the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts and the University of Limassol, with the support of the Municipality of Limassol and RIK as communication sponsor, are organizing a three-day tribute in his memory from September 2 to 4, 2025.

Mikis Theodorakis, whose multifaceted and internationally acclaimed work left an indelible mark on music and culture, shared a profound bond with Cyprus, and particularly with the city of Limassol. His love for the island was reciprocated by the Cypriot people—a mutual affection that continues to this day.

The tribute aspires to highlight Theodorakis’ musical, cultural, and intellectual legacy, exploring the many dimensions of this towering figure. Through concerts, discussions, and cultural activities, the event will shed light on the timeless influence of his work and his enduring connection to Cyprus.
