Cypriot Twin Artists Win Prestigious Leonardo da Vinci Art Award

The only Cypriot visual artists to ever receive the 7th International "Leonardo da Vinci – The Universal Artist" Prize impress with their interdependent artworks and unique style.

At a glamorous ceremony held at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan on June 7, and in the presence of prominent figures from the arts, literature, politics, and business, the 7th International "Leonardo da Vinci – The Universal Artist" Prize was awarded for the first time to visual artists from Cyprus.

Twin visual artists Stella and Maria Papa are the only painters from Cyprus who have so far managed to win over international art critics with their "interdependent" artworks and distinctive brushstrokes. Their unique artistic vision earned them one of the world’s most prestigious art awards, which is annually presented to artists recognized for their outstanding work and lasting contribution to the field of Art.

In addition to the honorary plaque, each artist was individually featured on a dedicated page in the official “7th International Prize Leonardo Da Vinci – The Universal Artist” publication. Furthermore, each received a full-page tribute in the collectible art catalog "Master Artist to Collect Vol. III, 2025", published by EA Effetto Arte and distributed exclusively to museums, galleries, collectors, and art critics.

The twin artists have already garnered a number of other international awards, honors, commendations, and features in collectible international art books (in English, Italian, and French), as well as global art magazines. Their work has been showcased on digital displays in major cities such as New York, London, and Barcelona.

Their artworks have also been part of group exhibitions in cities including Rome, Milan, Florence, Paris, London, Madrid, Boston, New York, and Tokyo.
