The documentary explores over six decades of Cyprus’ political and territorial division.
On September 22, the premiere of the documentary Cyprus: The Divided Island will take place at the Ledra Palace Hotel under the auspices of the United Nations.
According to a press release, the film “examines, with historical accuracy and a deeply human perspective, more than six decades of Cyprus’ territorial and political division.”
The documentary features interviews, personal testimonies from those directly affected, and analysis of the diplomatic, social, and cultural dimensions of the conflict. Its narrative unfolds through the voices of more than 32 individuals, including the leaders of the two communities and the UN’s highest representative in Cyprus.
Around 200 invited guests have confirmed attendance, including 16 ambassadors — among them those of Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, and Palestine — as well as representatives of the European Parliament, the United Nations, and various political authorities.
