The Cyprus Theatre Organization (CTO) proudly announces the winners of the 2023 Theatre Awards, celebrating and supporting the contributors to local theatrical creation and acknowledging the quality of their artistic work. 

Esteemed actor Stavros Louras is honored with the Grand CTO Award for his remarkable and balanced combination of realism, honesty, and sensitivity in his dramatic roles, particularly for his role as Alfred Ill in Friedrich Dürrenmatt's play "The Visit of the Old Lady," directed by Neofytos Taliotis. 

Louras has been unwaveringly serving Cypriot theater for fifty years and receives a collaboration offer with CTO and a cash prize of €5,000.

The Creator of the Year Award goes to director Paris Erotokritou for his works in Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and Samuel Beckett's "Krapp's Last Tape." Erotokritou has proven to be a masterful orchestrator of a multifaceted and meaningful theater, blending reality and dreams, paradox and truth. His directorial vision offers a fresh perspective on theatrical acts. 

This award also includes a collaboration offer with CTO and a cash prize of €3,000.

The New Creator of the Year Award is presented to musician and performer Anastasia Dimitriadou (Nama Dama) for her onstage musical performances in CTO's productions of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and Aristophanes' "Lysistrata,'' directed by Marios Mettis. Dimitriadou's contributions as a musical educator and her stage presence have significantly enriched the musical culture of these productions. 

She too receives a collaboration offer with CTO and a cash prize of €3,000.

The award committee included Antigone Papaphilippou, Chairperson of CTO's Board, along with Kyriaki Argyrou, Andri Eumedou, Maria Kaukaridou, and composer Giorgos Papageorgiou. Further details on the award ceremony will be announced later.
