The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works has announced the launch of the first urban express route, which begins operation on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in collaboration with Cyprus Public Transport. The new route, designated X13, aims to enhance citizens’ commuting experience and alleviate traffic congestion.

Operating daily from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with hourly departures, Route X13 connects key city locations with minimal stops, significantly reducing travel time.

• Starting Point: Transfer Station at Makario Stadium

• Ending Point: Solomos Square

• Key Stops: The route passes by the House of Representatives and the Courts, providing direct access to vital city landmarks.

This streamlined service is designed to make commuting faster and more convenient for citizens, improving their daily routines.

Route X13 will initially operate on a pilot basis in Nicosia to gather data and evaluate its performance. The findings from this phase will inform the full-scale implementation of the route, scheduled for early January 2025.
