Gloria Gallery Presents Giorgos Gavriel's New Art Exhibition

The Bold Artist Introduces Us to His New Works and Their Unique Dynamic

Like all artists, Giorgos Gavriel expresses his love for our country, his experiences, and reflections on what is happening in Cyprus and the world through his art, in his own distinct way.

Giorgos Gavriel's work opens a new window into the artistic scene of our country. A window that only free-thinking artists, away from predefined frameworks and boundaries, can open. He states that he puts his art at the service of society, creating works that oppose injustice and encourage political participation. At the same time, he remembers the beautiful. Rather, he reminisces and leans on it as a refuge in the difficult struggle. He balances between evoking aesthetic pleasure and mobilizing against the corrupt forces of the system.

In the works of Giorgos Gavriel, there is always that spark that distinguishes the genuine from the fake, the artwork from mere representation. Through his art, he depicts the world as he sees it, as he experiences it, daring to publish his views with a biting criticism of the system. He is original, experimenting with materials, technique, and composition. At times, he critiques the system; at other times, he caresses, observes the beauty of the world, or uses irony and humor.

The exhibition will open on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 19:30. The opening will be conducted by academic Christos Chatzioannou.
