A Hidden Gem in Limassol Worth Visiting

A gorgeous dam surrounded by natural beauty

The dam in question is none other than the one at Pera Pedi, which is located on the road to Troodos, at an altitude of 800 meters. For some, it is simply a stop in the mountains, but the beautiful and picturesque landscape it offers will make you realise that it is much more than that.

The purpose of the dam's construction was the need to irrigate the arable lands of Pera Pedi and the surrounding area, and it has been in operation since 1956.

The reservoir temporarily interrupts the course of the Kryos River, which is a tributary of the Kouris.

The area of the dam is of interest to nature lovers, as well as photographers. A walk in the area will make the reasons apparent!
