Join the Exhilarating Run Through Nicosia's Historic Old Town!

This year's inaugural marathon event unfolds

The second edition of the #runicosia race is coming on January 14, 2024. Similar to last year, runners must face different terrain surfaces. They are invited to run on pedestrian streets, climb marble stairs, and run on dirt sections alongside the Venetian walls of the city.

They will engage in a complex, interesting and unique route. 

The race includes four events: 4km run4fun (running and walking), 8km run, and a 4x4km relay. The start and finish of the #runicosia will be from the western end of Kostakis Pantelidis street at the upper deck of Eleftheria Square.

The participation fee for the race is €12.50 for the 4km race, €17.50 for the 8km, and €60 for the relay, with special prices offered for group participations, associations, National Guard, Police – Fire Brigade, personnel of the British Forces, UNFICYP staff, while National Guard conscripts can participate for free.

The registration fee includes the Finisher's Medal, the BIB including the participation number with a MyLaps electronic timing chip, while water, fruits, and rose water will be offered at the supply stations and the finish line.

Purpose

The purpose of the Non-Profit Organization RuNicosia is to promote sports and exercise as a means of improving physical and mental health. This is done through encouraging city residents to exercise and their participation in various activities. 

These activities are carried out throughout the year, including among others a children's academy, adult fitness programs, professional advice with the participation of scientists of various specialties as well as the broadcasting of TV and radio spots, presentations in schools and gymnasiums, theater performances/games, and informative lectures.
