KOURION2030, European Capital of Culture 2030 - Candidate City, invites artists, organizations, groups of artists, youth groups and other creative collectives to submit project proposals to be included in the Municipality’s bid book by August 31, 2024.

Uniting the nine communities of Western Limassol is the main goal of the newly established Municipality of Kourion, which is bidding for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030, aiming to highlight the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

However, in order to achieve unity - it is necessary to repair the various fractures first, which are encountered in the history of our place and communities. Guided by the aim of establishing a cohesive community, the theme of KOURION2030 “Embracing Imperfections” intents to strengthen the beauty and the values of the newly established Municipality.

Within this context, we seek proposals for projects that can encompass one or more art forms - music, dance, theater, visual arts, etc. - and incorporate elements from the rich cultural heritage of both our region and the broader Eastern Mediterranean. The merging of nine communities into a unified municipality symbolizes a powerful narrative of bringing together all the diverse elements to create a stronger, cohesive whole.
