Speed Limit Reduced to 30km/h on These Limassol Streets
New Traffic Regulation Aims to Enhance Safety and Accessibility in Key Urban Areas
A new maximum speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour has been introduced on specific roads in Limassol’s historic city center, according to an official announcement issued today by the Limassol Municipality.
The decision forms part of a traffic regulation measure approved with the consent of the Chief of the Cyprus Police and in line with the 2006 Limassol Municipal Regulations governing traffic management.
The reduced speed limit applies to Aneksartisias Street and surrounding streets to its west, including the following:
Vragadinou, Megalou Alexandrou, Thrace, Kanari, Athanasiou Sakellariou, Andreas Themistocleous, Georgiou Gennadiou, Athens, Themis, Yiangos Potamitis, Iphigenias, Nikolaou Xiouta, Ptolemaion, Renos Pougioukas, Philippos Makedonos, Arch. Kyprianou, Saripolou, Kitiou Kyprianou, Agiou Andreou, Ellados, Spartis, Leonidou, Thermopylon, Eirinis, Marathona, Darvinou, Simou Menandrou, Eleftherias, Ellinon, Evcaf Serdar, Kleopatras, Shakespeare, Makedonias, Enoseos, Kosta Charaki, Nikolaou Mantzarou, Nikou Georgiou, Giannis Perdiou, Afroditis, Ferzi Pasha, Bayazit, and Yildiz (specifically between Eleftherias and Medzit streets).
The municipality highlights that the new regulation is part of broader efforts to improve road safety, pedestrian comfort, and quality of life in the heart of the city.
Violators of the speed restriction will face penalties as stipulated in the Municipal Law and the 2006 Limassol Municipal Regulations.
