To inspire wine and travel enthusiasts, Compare the Market Australia compiled a list of top wine tourism destinations, aiding travelers in deciding their next holiday destinations. Cyprus has been recognized as one of the world’s best countries for wine tourism, according to the study.
With 114 grape varieties, Cyprus ranks 36th globally and 20th in Europe.

The study evaluated regions based on seven factors, such as the number of grape varieties, vineyard area (hectares), wine consumption (1,000 hectoliters), wine production (1,000 hectoliters), critics’ ratings for the most popular wine, price of the most popular wine, and the global ranking of the most popular wine bottle.
France tops the list as the world's premier wine tourism destination, followed by Italy, the USA, Spain, and Australia.
The research also highlighted KEO KTHMA's 'Cabernet Sauvignon – Lefkada' as the most popular Cypriot wine.
The study also analyzed each country's regions most popular for wine tourism, with Limassol ranking 253rd out of 309 analyzed areas, and Kyperounta Petritis wine receiving high ratings.
