Nicosia to Welcome Hadassah Healthcare Park, a New Center for Medicine and Research
The project cost will exceed €150 million.
A new chapter is opening in Cyprus for hospital care, healthcare services, and medical education with the creation and operation of the pioneering Hadassah Healthcare Park.
The Hadassah Healthcare Park, to be built in the Lakatamia area of Nicosia, completed its public consultation phase for its environmental permit on April 12. Following final approvals, construction is expected to begin, lasting an estimated two years. The project cost will exceed €150 million.
As Brief reports, the main shareholders of the Park are Osopil Ltd, an Israeli-affiliated company connected to the Israeli Elhadi Group. The Group, owned by businessman Eli Israeli, who also serves as an advisor to Osopil Ltd, maintains a strong presence in Cyprus, Poland, and the United Kingdom. The company specializes in the development and management of significant commercial and residential real estate projects.
According to the Group’s official website, "The shareholder of Elhadi Group is an international real estate entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience across multiple countries. In Cyprus, our subsidiaries are actively involved in strategic investments in the dynamic real estate sector, with operations in the vibrant cities of Limassol and Nicosia."
The Hadassah Healthcare Park will be a multifunctional complex combining medical, educational, commercial, and residential spaces.
According to the environmental report, the project will include:
-
A private hospital with a capacity of 192 inpatient beds and outpatient clinics.
-
A medical university capable of hosting up to 600 students, complete with a research center.
-
A four-story commercial building designed to house biotechnology offices.
-
A student dormitory offering 232 rooms.
The project is planned to be completed within 24 months, barring unforeseen delays. Once operational, it will create 90 office jobs, accommodate up to 500 students, and employ several staff members at the educational institution. The Park aims to provide high-level healthcare services and the necessary infrastructure for training specialized medical professionals.
The Healthcare Park will be built near the THOI Lakatamia Stadium (440 meters northwest), the Maglis Lake (650 meters northwest), and the Pediaios River Park (520 meters west).
The primary goal of the Hadassah Healthcare Park is to raise the standards of medical services in Cyprus. The establishment of a medical university within the complex will create a center for the education of specialized doctors, boosting the educational sector and improving healthcare services.
The student dormitory will provide comfortable accommodation for students and researchers, while the biotechnology offices will contribute to the development of innovative medical technologies.
