Cyprus Approves €150M Hadassah Healthcare Park in Nicosia
A multipurpose healthcare and education complex in Lakatamia.
The Environmental Authority of Cyprus has approved a major private development project — the Hadassah Healthcare Park — to be constructed in the Agia Paraskevi parish of Lakatamia, Nicosia. The €150+ million venture by Osopil Ltd combines healthcare, education, biotechnology, and residential infrastructure, and is expected to be completed within two years.
The development, which had been under public consultation earlier this year, will include a five-storey private hospital with 156 patient beds, outpatient clinics, a mechanical floor, and a basement level. Adjacent to the hospital, a five-storey medical university will host up to 900 students, aiming to contribute to the country’s medical education capacity and enhance its status as a health destination.
The project will also feature:
-
A six-storey student dormitory building.
-
A five-storey commercial building hosting biotech offices.
-
Ground-level parking spaces.
-
Rooftop photovoltaic panels on all buildings to promote energy efficiency.

According to the Environmental Impact Assessment, the project will not adversely affect nearby ecosystems or protected areas, as it is located a significant distance from Natura 2000 zones. Furthermore, the site does not fall within bird migration paths or sensitive nitrate or wastewater zones. While an existing stream known as “Argaki tou Nomikou” runs along the eastern boundary, the authorities found no ecological or archaeological risks in the area.
The planning process began in October 2024 with the submission of a formal urban planning application. The environmental review included site visits, public input, and interdepartmental consultation. Supplementary documentation was submitted in April 2025, with final approval granted after a May 2025 review session.
Construction will involve site preparation, excavation, utility installations, and progressive structural and mechanical work.
