Unified for Humanity: The 2026 Cyprus Red Cross Campaign Begins
Cyprus Red Cross & Allwyn Launch 2026 Fundraising Campaign
In a powerful demonstration of humanitarian solidarity, the Cyprus Red Cross Society (CRCS) officially launched its 2026 Pancyprian Fundraising Campaign today. The event, held on World Red Cross Day, not only marked the start of the annual drive but also solidified a landmark partnership for the future of specialized pediatric care in Cyprus.
The ceremony, hosted by Mr. Savvas Kosiaris, featured a keynote address by the President of the CRCS, Mrs. Fotini Papadopoulou. She delivered a moving retrospective on the Society’s 75-year legacy, highlighting its evolution into the island’s premier humanitarian force. A central focus of her speech was the CRCS Children Therapy Centre "Stella Soulioti," which remains a cornerstone of support for children with physical disabilities.
The campaign was officially opened by the Minister of Health, Mr. Neophytos Charalambides, who lauded the Red Cross for its tireless contributions to the nation's social fabric and its "honorable work" that consistently fills critical gaps in public welfare.
The event underscored the deep-rooted collaboration between the CRCS and Allwyn, now entering its ninth year.
- CEO of the Red Cross, Mr. Marios Argirou, welcomed guests with a heartfelt tribute to Allwyn’s ongoing support. He expressed deep personal pride in being part of the "Red Cross family" and emphasized that the organization’s reach is significantly amplified by such dedicated corporate partners.
- Keynote Speaker Mr. Alexandros Ntavos of Allwyn, reaffirmed the company’s long-term pledge to the Society. In a major announcement, he confirmed that Allwyn remains committed to supporting the Red Cross from start to finish until the complete renovation of the "Stella Soulioti" Children Therapy Centre is achieved.
"Our cooperation over the last nine years has been impressive, but our work is far from over," noted Mr. Ntavos. "We are standing by the Red Cross until the 'Stella Soulioti' Centre is fully transformed to meet the needs of every child it serves."
The fundraising campaign will run from 05-20/5, with volunteers active across Cyprus. Funds raised this year are more critical than ever as the Society embarks on major infrastructure upgrades while maintaining its daily humanitarian relief efforts.
