Open Workshop on Coaching & Sports Education by the Cyprus Basketball Federation
Within the Framework of the SheCOACH Project
The Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF) invites coaches, sports officials, students, and sports professionals to an open workshop with free participation, which will take place on Saturday, 25 October 2025, from 10:30 to 13:00, at the Bank of Cyprus Headquarters in Nicosia. The event is part of SheCOACH: Gender Equality in Coaching, an Erasmus+ Sport project funded by the European Union and implemented in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Spain.
The aim of the workshop is to present the SheCOACH Guidance Framework, a new practical tool that supports coaching education providers, coaches, and sports organizations in effectively integrating gender equality into their work. Through specific implementation examples, it will highlight how a gender-balanced approach improves the quality of programs, strengthens women’s participation in coaching, and contributes to more inclusive training and qualification certification systems.
The event will include an opening address by the President of the Cyprus Basketball Federation, Mr. Andreas Mouzourides, followed by a Round Table Discussion on topics related to career and personal development, inclusion, and equality in sports. The discussion will be moderated by journalist Katia Savva, with interventions by, among others, Josie Christodoulou, Commissioner for Gender Equality; Konstantina Pafiti, Member of the Cyprus Sports Organization Board; Evi Lazoura, Physiotherapist of the Men’s National Team; Kalia Papadopoulou, Coach of AEL Limassol Men’s Team; and Marianna Hadjiantoniou, Founder of PERHA GROUP. Based on good practices and personal experiences, participants will co-develop proposals that promote equality on the court, in locker rooms, and in management.
Participation is free of charge. To reserve a spot, please complete the online registration form by 24 October (click here). The detailed program of the event is available on the Federation’s website (click here). Certificates of participation will be sent electronically upon request.
Through SheCOACH, the Cyprus Basketball Federation continues to invest in an open, fair, and modern sports ecosystem. Those who wish to actively contribute to shaping a practical framework that puts equality into action in coaching are invited to participate and share their ideas.
