The Association of Companies and Professionals in Electric Mobility (ACPEM) has joined the force of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

During the Association's Founding Assembly, the following members were elected to the Board of Directors for the next three years:

• Vicken Mahtesian (Troodos Electric Cables Ltd) - Member
• Christos Trachonitis (Smartec Mobility Ltd) - Member
• Evangelos Stamatiou (EKO Cyprus Ltd) - Member

ACPEM's primary objectives include promoting electric mobility, transitioning to alternative forms of transportation, and simultaneously developing a network and infrastructure for recharging electric vehicles.

The goal is to widely disseminate various electric or hybrid vehicles as transportation means, along with supporting infrastructures and technologies in the transport sector and beyond. This initiative significantly promotes sustainable mobility in Cyprus.

ACPEM consists of market-leading companies in various sectors, such as Electric Car Charger Managers – CPO/EMSP Service Providers, Car Importers, Suppliers – Providers of Electromobility Infrastructures, and Electricians.

The Association's activities include all sorts of electric or hybrid vehicles - passenger, commercial, trucks, etc. - as complete mechanical constructions, along with all their supporting subsystems, mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, etc.

Also included are networks and infrastructures supporting the above vehicles, to promote wider dissemination in line with the state's policies and action plan, e.g., electric energy distribution networks for electric vehicles and public charging stations for their batteries (conventional or advanced technology), networks of organized maintenance/replacement centers for electric batteries, networks of city electric car rental stations, etc.

Additionally, monitoring global and European legislative developments, offering incentives or removing disincentives for using electric vehicles, and legislative activities encouraging car manufacturers to expand their production into electric or hybrid vehicles with zero or near-zero emissions are crucial elements.

CCCI welcomed ACPEM to its ranks and pledged to support the Association in achieving its goals and objectives with its vast experience and professionalism.
