Concerns about this year's tourism season are being expressed by the Association of Cyprus Tourist Enterprises (ACTE), noting a significant decrease in available flight seats to and from Cypriot airports for 2024 compared to 2023. Specifically, the decrease is estimated at 550,000 seats.

In a statement, the Association mentions that the information provided to its Board of Directors during a recent meeting by a representative from Hermes Airports, regarding the current situation and outlook for the upcoming summer tourism season, has caused significant concern.

According to current plans of airlines for flights to and from Cypriot airports, there is a recorded decrease of 550,000 seats for 2024 compared to 2023.

Furthermore, the uncertainty surrounding Israel, Cyprus' second-largest tourism market, is exacerbated by the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which is far from encouraging.

Additionally, the possibility of grounding or time-consuming repairs of specific aircraft types due to identified issues could further worsen the situation. This is particularly concerning if it affects airlines operating routes to and from Cyprus, as noted by the Association.
