Cyprus' Major Export Products in 2023
Pharmaceuticals, Halloumi, and More
In 2023, Cyprus' primary export commodities were fossil fuels and oils, halloumi cheese, and pharmaceutical products, as reported by the Statistical Service.
A graph published today revealed that Cyprus exported domestically produced goods worth €508.39 million to EU countries and an additional €1.84 billion to non-EU countries.
The major products exported to EU nations were pharmaceuticals, accounting for 38.5% of exports with a value of €195.5 million. Halloumi cheese followed, representing 22.6% and valued at €115.14 million. Also significant were exports of paper, glass, and metal waste and scrap, constituting 7.6% at €38.7 million, and potatoes at 6.7%, valued at €34.15 million.
Exports to non-EU countries were dominated by fossil fuels and oils, making up 62.5% of the total, amounting to €1.15 billion. Halloumi cheese comprised 10.7% of these exports, valued at €198.15 billion. Pharmaceuticals represented 8.7%, worth €160.1 million, while fruit and vegetable juices accounted for 2.1%, valued at €296.4 million.
