Singapore's Changi Airport has lost its top ranking as the world's best airport to Doha's Hamad International, according to the latest rankings by air transport rating agency Skytrax. This marks the third time Hamad International has secured the top position, having previously won in 2021 and 2022.

Travelers from over 100 nationalities participated in the Skytrax survey, which also highlighted Hamad International as the best airport for shopping.

Notably, Changi Airport has been named the world's best airport by Skytrax twelve times, including a streak from 2013 to 2020 and again in 2023. In this year's survey, Changi received accolades as the "Best Airport in Asia" and for having the "Best Airport Immigration Service in the World."

South Korea's Incheon International Airport moved up to the third spot, from fourth in 2023, and was named the most family-friendly airport globally for 2024.

Tokyo's Haneda Airport, handling 70 million passengers in 2023—the highest among all airports on the Skytrax list—secured fourth place and was also recognized as the "Cleanest Airport in the World." Tokyo's other major international hub, Narita Airport, placed fifth, earning the title of "Best Airport Staff in the World."

The rankings are based on questionnaires sent to airport customers between August 2023 and March 2024. Passengers assessed various airport services, including check-in and transit experiences, immigration processes, shopping, and departures.
