Forward-Thinking Circles is designed to bring together small, dynamic groups of professionals to share their expertise and experience

Event Overview and Vision

The Forward-Thinking Circles series is designed to bring together small, dynamic groups of professionals to delve into the evolving landscape of Cyprus, fostering a space for collaborative insight and shared expertise. The inaugural event highlighted pivotal trends across Radio, Digital Media, and Influencer Marketing, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the market nuances in Cyprus.

The session was expertly moderated by Stavriana Nathanail, CMO of Digital Tree, who enriched the discussion with global and Cyprus-specific insights into Social Media trends, the resurgence of Radio, the possibilities of podcasts and the correct usage of influencers.

Highlights from the First Event

The discussion covered the significant rise in podcast popularity, as evidenced by the IAB Europe Podcast Study 2022, and a shift towards personalized radio experiences via platforms like Pandora and Spotify. Moreover, insights from the PwC report suggest an ongoing reallocation of brand investments from traditional radio advertising towards burgeoning digital audio platforms. Additionally, the concept of Hybrid Radio was discussed, which merges traditional FM/AM broadcasts with digital elements like on-demand content and interactive features, thus enhancing listener engagement through personalization and accessibility.

Digital Marketing remains a hot topic, with Cyprus witnessing a projected surge in digital ad spending, expected to near €50 million by 2024. The importance of mobile-first strategies was underscored by Cyprus's high mobile phone penetration rate, emphasizing the necessity of mobile-optimized marketing approaches.

Social media continues to dominate the digital sphere in Cyprus, with platforms like Facebook and Instagram showing substantial user engagement. This segment further explored the importance of content and data-driven marketing, acknowledging the growing presence of marketing automation platforms that support such strategies.

Influencer Marketing: Is it Really Worth it?

The event spotlighted the potent impact of influencer marketing, with discussions on the trust consumers place in influencer recommendations compared to branded content. Key strategies highlighted included the importance of aligning influencers whose style and values reflect those of the brand, and the effective use of micro-influencers to target niche audiences.
