The New Mercure Larnaca City Hotel Has Opened Its Doors

Class And Luxury, Overlooking The Sea Of Larnaca

The second Mercure hotel in Cyprus has started operating in the space of the former iconic Palace Theater, which underwent a major renovation. Mercure, the brand inspired by the place it operates in, announced the opening of the new Mercure Larnaca City on July 8th.

Located in the heart of Larnaca, just a few meters away from a variety of local attractions, restaurants, and shops, Mercure Larnaca City is the ideal destination for any visitor looking to explore and discover the city, as well as the famous Finikoudes Beach. The hotel is only seven kilometers from Larnaca International Airport, ensuring easy access for those traveling for leisure or business.

The impressive new hotel is housed in a historic building known as the Palace Theater, which once hosted an iconic cinema and concert hall. After extensive renovations, Mercure Larnaca City was designed to revive the old glory of the building and honor its theatrical heritage.

The hotel features 42 spacious standard and superior rooms, each furnished with refined taste and the most modern amenities. Mercure Larnaca City also offers a fully equipped gym, the Sky View Gym, located on the hotel’s rooftop, next to the pool and bar, where guests can relax and enjoy the sun with their preferred drink, smoothies, fresh juices, and snacks. For a unique gastronomic experience, guests can also visit the Smoothie Factory on the ground floor of the building, which serves breakfast.

Mercure Larnaca City is operated by Solaar Hospitality, a hotel management company based in Cyprus, which also opened Mercure Larnaca Beach in 2023. Both properties operate under a franchise agreement with Accor.

“We are excited to welcome our guests to this transformed space and provide a unique experience for all visitors. My team and I are proud to represent Cypriot hospitality, paying attention to even the smallest detail, ensuring a comfortable and restful stay. We are particularly happy to elevate the standard of local hotels to new heights and set the bar even higher in the market. Welcome to your home away from home,” said Andreas Sofokleous, General Manager of both Mercure hotels in Cyprus.

Inspired by Mercury, the Roman god of travelers, Mercure hotels offer much more than just a place to sleep—they are a gateway to the destination, a warm invitation to discover and explore the area. Since its establishment in 1973, Mercure has been dedicated to revealing the treasures surrounding its hotels, creating an exciting experience for guests. The network prides itself on providing high-quality standards imbued with a deep sense of place.

Mercure is demonstrating the largest growth in Accor's portfolio, with more than 210 additional hotels set to welcome guests by 2028.
