Polish Airline LOT Resumes Flights to Larnaca Airport

Increased Flight Frequency Expected for Summer 2025

Polish airline LOT has decided to resume flights to Larnaca Airport, with a frequency of four flights per week during the winter season.

According to a press release from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, LOT plans to increase the frequency to six flights per week during the summer season of 2025.

It is noted that flights from Poland are also conducted by the airlines Wizzair, Ryanair, Enter Air Spolka, and Buzz Air.

The Polish market has become the second-largest market for Cyprus, showing a sustained increase over the past two years. In 2023, 273,000 Polish tourists visited Cyprus, compared to 186,000 in 2022. As of June this year, 110,000 Polish tourists have visited Cyprus, marking a 21.9% increase compared to the previous year.

According to the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, several airlines have recently announced new flight schedules to Cyprus. These include Cy Airways from Barcelona, EasyJet from Amsterdam, Wizzair from Milan, and Royal Jordanian from Amman. Additionally, Wizzair has increased its flight frequencies from 11 different airports.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis stated that air connectivity is undoubtedly one of the keys to the smooth operation of a destination, especially for an island destination like Cyprus. He assured that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the airport management company, is making significant efforts to continuously improve the country's air connectivity.

"The decision of Polish airline LOT to resume flights to Larnaca throughout the year, after a two-year hiatus, is particularly pleasing, as is the decision of any company to add new routes," Koumis noted. He added that it is also very important that the airline returns with four flights per week, especially during the winter season.
