The Independent Authority Against Corruption has issued a reminder to registered special interest group representatives (lobbyists) of their legal obligation to submit semiannual reports to the Authority by September 15. This requirement pertains to the six-month period that began on March 1, 2024.

In its announcement, the Authority emphasizes that every individual registered in the Lobbyist Registration Registry must submit the relevant semiannual report, either in print or electronic form, for any involvement in public decision-making processes that occurred during the specified period.

The reporting forms are L03 for natural persons and L04 for private legal entities. Corresponding tables in Excel format are available on the Authority's website (www.iaac.org.cy) under the section Lobbying – Useful Forms.

The Authority also notes that if there was no involvement in any public decision-making process within the six-month period, a written statement must be submitted to the Authority, either by letter or on the semiannual report form itself, indicating that there was no communication with any official during that time.

It is highlighted that failure to submit the semiannual report by a registered person constitutes an offense. If convicted, the individual may face a prison sentence of up to six months, a fine of up to €5,000, or both penalties.
