Netflix Cyprus Top 10: Greek Mythology and Jeff Goldblum Lead

This week, the Netflix Cyprus Top 10 shows some changes, with Greek mythology and Jeff Goldblum as Zeus taking the top spot.

Movies

#5 Scream VI
The initial reboot of the Scream franchise felt lacking without Wes Craven's touch. However, in Scream VI, the creators make their mark, delivering a worthy Scream film. Listen to our tribute to perhaps the best slasher franchise below:

#4 Incoming
When directors Dave and John Chernin were kids, their neighbor threw a wild party. "I remember Dave and I sitting at the window, lights off, watching this crazy school party next door, thinking it was the wildest thing I'd ever seen," John tells Tudum. Two decades later, the writer-director brothers throw their own party—and we're all invited. Incoming follows one night in the lives of a group of high school freshmen, the parties they throw, and the ensuing chaos. The movie may lack sharpness, but it has plenty of funny moments.

#3 Minions: Rise of Gru
A sequel to Minions (2015) and a prequel to Despicable Me (2010), this fifth installment of the Despicable Me franchise explores Gru's childhood and his early steps as a supervillain, with his loyal Minions by his side.

#2 The Union
Mike, a grounded construction worker, enters the world of super spies and secret agents when his high school girlfriend recruits him for a high-risk U.S. intelligence mission. The chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry is lively, but it's not enough to save the film.

#1 The Deliverance
Directed by Lee Daniels, Andra Day and Glenn Close star in a story of exorcism that mixes melodrama with, theoretically, horror. The project was announced ten years ago when Daniels said he was taking on a film based on the true story of Latoya Ammons, a single mother who claimed her house was haunted, her children were possessed, and an exorcism was necessary. The resulting movie is silly, mediocre, and not scary, but it might inspire a Halloween costume idea.

The rest of Netflix’s Top 10 Movies: #10 Night School, #9 (Un)Lucky Sisters, #8 Saving Bikini Bottom, #7 Ferdinand, #6 Breaking.

Series

#5 Worst Ex Ever
This documentary series presents domestic abuse through harrowing real-life scenarios, showing how surprisingly easy it is to become trapped in such relationships and how victims have found ways to break free. Produced by Blumhouse Productions, known for Worst Roommate Ever on Netflix.

#4 Breathless
Just when we thought we were short on medical dramas, suddenly, we’re overwhelmed with them. Breathless, by Carlos Montero, is a typical medical drama with exhausted, attractive young residents, equally attractive and arrogant attending physicians playing god with people's lives, cheeky nurses, and frustrated administrators—it has it all.

#3 The Accident
As a group prepares for a birthday party in this new Spanish Netflix series, one person awaits a life-changing phone call, unaware it will bring unexpected sorrow. The tragic accident that ensues radically alters the lives of three families, triggering a spiral of guilt, resentment, and violence, pushing them to explore the farthest limits of pain, endurance, and forgiveness. At least, that’s the intention, as the series opens too many melodramatic fronts in the first episode without letting us first connect with its characters.

#2 Emily in Paris
Netflix's most bubblegum series returns. Turn off your brain and enjoy. It’s already renewed for a fifth season.

#1 Kaos
From Jurassic Park to Super Bowl memes, Jeff Goldblum is, for many, the epitome of cool. But what if he were the pinnacle of everything? That’s the question posed by KAOS, the new series from The End of the F***ing World creator Charlie Covell, which places Goldblum at the top of Mount Olympus. The drama, now streaming on Netflix, reimagines Greek mythology in a modern setting, with Goldblum's Zeus, the ruthless king of the gods, at its center.

The rest of Netflix’s Top 10 Series: #10 Terminator Zero, #9 Love Next Door, #8 IC814, #7 LOST, #6 Mermaid Magic.
