Christodoulides Discusses Interest Rates and Economy with Central Bank Governor
Financial Topics, Including Interest Rates and the Cypriot Economy, Addressed During Presidential Meeting
Financial sector issues, including interest rates and the state of the Cypriot economy, were discussed during a meeting between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), Christodoulos Patsalides, on Tuesday afternoon at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.
The one-hour meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister to the President, Irene Piki, and the Director of the President’s Office, Charalambos Charalambous.
According to sources, the Governor of the Central Bank briefed the President on recent European economic developments. The discussion then covered broader financial sector topics, including the trajectory of interest rates, banking, the Cypriot economy, and other priorities set by the Central Bank.
