Solar Power for All: Consumption Cap Removed

Solar Power for All: Consumption Cap Removed

No Need for a Property Title; What Changes With the New Cabinet Decision

The "Solar Power for All" Plan is relaunched with the only criterion being the power capacity of the installed system.

Essentially, the recent Cabinet decision brings significant changes for those eligible for the Plan.

More specifically, households consuming more than 6,000 kilowatt-hours annually and those without a property title can now apply using only the sales agreement.

This decision will benefit large households that were previously excluded due to high, unavoidable consumption or for those who, for any reason, lacked a property title.

The criterion that remains in place is that the system's power must be up to 4.16 kW.

According to the Ministry of Energy’s estimates, 3,000 households will benefit from the new plan.

What the Plan Entails

The Plan offers the opportunity for those lacking financial resources to install a 4.2 kW solar power system with no upfront payment, repaid through bimonthly installments of €150.

  • In addition to the subsidy (€125 per kW), the RES and EE Fund will pay the participating merchant the remaining amount for the complete investment, up to €1,125 per kW.

  • The "repayment amount" is returned by the applicant to the RES and EE Fund through bimonthly charges of €150, which are paid via the participating provider (e.g., EAC) and added to the electricity bill.
