Now’s Your Chance to See the Iconic FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Trophy Up Close
Cyprus Hosts the FIBA EuroBasket Trophy Tour as Excitement Builds for the 2025 Championship
The FIBA EuroBasket trophy has arrived in Cyprus, marking the upcoming match between the Cyprus national basketball team and France on November 21.
According to a press release, the iconic trophy will be in Cyprus for ten days in mid-November. During its stay, it will travel to various cities, giving sports fans across the country the chance to experience the excitement of the 2025 European Basketball Championship, which Cyprus will co-host next summer.
Ahead of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025, co-hosted by Cyprus, Latvia, Finland, and Poland next August and September, the trophy — famously lifted by players like Galis in 1987 and Kakiouzis in 2005 — is making its first-ever visit to Cyprus, offering fans a unique opportunity to see and photograph it up close.
The trophy’s final stop in Cyprus will be on November 21 at the “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria” arena, where the Cyprus National Team will compete against France, silver Olympic medalists of 2024 and EuroBasket 2022 finalists, in the qualifiers. Cyprus, along with its three co-hosts, is participating in the qualifiers but has already secured a spot in the final phase of the tournament.
The Cyprus Basketball Federation and the Organizing Committee of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 have arranged for the trophy to make several stops across Cyprus, allowing as many people as possible to view it up close.
Until November 15, the trophy will be on display at the Museum of the Cyprus Olympic Committee in the Olympic House, Nicosia, where students can visit in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports.
