President and AHI Delegation Explore Trade Opportunities
Collaboration on Cyprus-U.S. Relations Takes Center Stage.
The further development of commercial relations between Cyprus and the United States was among the topics discussed on Monday by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, with a delegation from the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) at the Presidential Palace.
Following the meeting, the President of the American Hellenic Institute, Nick Larigakis, told reporters that the AHI was founded after the Turkish invasion of 1974 and is marking its 50th anniversary this year, which is why the delegation visited Cyprus.
He added that the meeting with President Christodoulides included discussions on several activities that AHI is currently promoting in Washington and plans to advance further with the new U.S. administration.
“We also discussed the commercial relations that the President (Christodoulides) is now working to develop with America, how we can assist in this effort, and what role we can play to support this area,” Mr. Larigakis noted.
