The Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) has initiated a small pilot project to install smart meters across various cities between January 20 and 25. This trial aims to test the devices’ functionality, communication systems, and troubleshoot any potential issues.

According to an EAC announcement, the smart meters will be installed in the following areas:

• Nicosia: Trypiotis area

• Limassol: Parts of Germasogeia and Agios Athanasios

• Larnaca: Finikoudes area

• Paphos: Kato Paphos

This pilot project is part of the preparatory work for the first phase of the broader smart meter installation program, which aims to modernize the energy management infrastructure across Cyprus.
