Up to 2,000 Applications Expected to Be Approved Under the "Rent Instead of Installment" Scheme
Legal Obstacles Delay Implementation Due to Lack of Final Approval Certificates
Between 1,500 and 2,000 applications are expected to be approved under the "Rent Instead of Installment" scheme if legislative changes are made to address obstacles related to properties without final approval certificates.
Speaking on Trito Radio, KEDIPES President Lambros Papadopoulos explained that the organization could face criminal and administrative liabilities if it acquires properties without final approval certificates. Currently, an estimated 60% of the properties requiring approval lack a final certificate, creating a major hurdle for the scheme’s implementation.
Papadopoulos also stated that 160 approvals have been granted so far, with approximately 25 properties acquired. Additionally, 400 applications are in the final approval stage.
