For an Inclusive & Sustainable Future.

ΚyklOIKOdromio proudly joined forces, alongside other local stakeholders, with Strovolos Municipality in the Local Green Deal (LGD) "Crafting Change: Empowering Women Through Sustainable Handicrafts." As a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental protection, circular economy, and sustainable innovation, ΚyklOIKOdromio plays a crucial role in fostering climate-neutral and inclusive economic practices through education, skill-building, and community engagement.

About “Crafting Change”

This initiative empowers marginalized groups, particularly women (unemployed or elderly), by providing specialized training in creating traditional Cypriot handicrafts using recyclable materials. Through educational workshops and hands-on sessions incorporating 3D printing technologies, participants learn to transform everyday waste into eco-friendly products such as handmade bags, accessories, and home décor. By blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, the project aligns with the European Green Deal's objectives and the principles of the twin transition.

Furthermore, the Local Green Deal aims to utilized existing local initiatives. The Innovation Hub NOUS will be hosting the initiative’s educational and hands-on workshops and skill-building sessions, providing expert trainers and educators with knowledge in 3D printing. Specialized equipment will be made available via renting at affordable prices through the local "Library of Things" (http://www.circularlibraryforall.org which was developed by KyklOIKOdromio with the support of Strovolos Municipality) promoting a sense of community and circular economy principles such as sharing. Furthermore, the initiative supports economic independence by encouraging participants to market their creations locally and online via already existing online platforms (i.e. http://www.circularforall.org which was developed by KyklOIKOdromio with the support of Strovolos Municipality).
