Inflation in Cyprus Drops to 2.1% in March 2025, Says Eurostat

Despite Monthly Decline, Cyprus Records Higher Annual Inflation Compared to March 2024

Inflation in Cyprus decreased to 2.1% in March 2025, down from 2.3% in February, according to flash estimates released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. These figures are part of the latest data on inflation developments across the eurozone.

Compared to March 2024, when inflation in Cyprus stood at 1.6%, the March 2025 figure reflects a year-on-year increase, despite the recent monthly decline.

According to Eurostat estimates, annual inflation across the eurozone is expected to reach 2.2% in March 2025, slightly down from 2.3% in February and from 2.4% in March 2024.

Among the main components driving eurozone inflation:

  • Services are projected to record the highest annual inflation rate in March, at 3.4%, though slightly lower than 3.7% in February.

  • Food, alcohol, and tobacco follow, with an expected inflation rate of 2.9%, up from 2.7% in February.

  • Non-energy industrial goods remain stable at 0.6%.

  • Energy prices are expected to decline, showing a deflation rate of -0.7%, compared to a 0.2% increase in February.
