Global record-breaking tour expands into 2026 with 16 Europe and UK shows; Athens kicks off the run.

Metallica have announced the extension of their M72 World Tour into 2026, marking a fourth consecutive year for the record-breaking series of shows. The legendary metal band will perform 16 concerts across Europe and the UK in May, June, and July 2026.

Athens will host the opening show on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Olympic Stadium, and will be the first time the band brings their in-the-round 360° stage production to Greece—a spectacle that has already captivated millions worldwide.

Special guests for the Athens show include Gojira and Knocked Loose, promising an explosive live lineup.

The 2026 tour continues the “No Repeat Weekends” format, featuring two shows in select cities with entirely different setlists and opening acts each night.

Stops include long-awaited returns to Frankfurt (May 22 & 24), Dublin (June 19 & 21), Budapest (June 11 & 13), and London (July 3 & 5). One-night appearances will take place in:

  • Zurich (May 27)

  • Berlin (May 30)

  • Bologna (June 3)

  • Glasgow (June 25)

  • Cardiff (June 28)

Support acts across the European leg will include Gojira, Pantera, Knocked Loose, and Avatar, with specific lineups varying by date.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will be donated to local charities through Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation.
