AstroBank CEO Aristidis Bourakis Takes Helm of Cyprus Banking Association
Antonis Rouvas of Hellenic Bank Elected as Vice President for a Two-Year Term
AstroBank CEO Aristidis Bourakis will lead the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Banking Association for the next two years, with Antonis Rouvas, Interim CEO of Hellenic Bank, assuming the Vice Presidency of the Board.
According to a statement from the Association, the elections during the Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Banking Association preceded the ceremonial part of the event.
It was also noted that for the first time following recent statutory changes by the Organization, the President and Vice President will serve a two-year term, compared to the previous one-year term.
Simultaneously, executives from the eight other member banks of the Association are also participating in the Board of Directors.
Additionally, the Association, which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year, is modernizing and evolving into a more productive, substantive, and influential organization.
Following his election as President of the Board, Mr. Bourakis stated, "After my election as President of the Board of the Cyprus Banking Association, I commit to substantial, effective, and beneficial collaboration within the banking sector, aiming for financial stability, economic growth, and social welfare."
Newly elected Vice President Antonis Rouvas expressed his anticipation of "close cooperation with all economic entities to strengthen and enhance the banking system with the goal of fostering the country's economic development and societal well-being."
