Cypriot lawyer Antonia Panagidou has been named one of the Top 10 Shipping Lawyers for 2024 by the globally renowned maritime publication, Lloyd’s List. A partner in the Transportation Department of Reed Smith in London, Panagidou is celebrated for her exceptional contributions to maritime law and her leadership in addressing contemporary challenges in the shipping industry.

Her recognition highlights her specialization in managing complex contractual disputes and tackling critical issues related to decarbonization and sustainability in shipping.

Panagidou actively participates in seminars on maritime law and sanction developments, enhancing the dissemination of knowledge and fostering networking opportunities. Through her office in London, she strengthens Limassol’s reputation as a significant maritime hub.

Among her accomplishments is her involvement in BIMCO’s drafting committees for the FuelEU charter clause and Windseacon, a standard framework for wind turbine transport and installation. She also played a pivotal role in developing a marketplace-style pooling platform under FuelEU and actively contributes to groundbreaking carbon capture projects.

Beyond her professional achievements, Panagidou leads initiatives to promote equality and inclusion in her workplace. She is an active member of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association), working to empower women in the maritime industry.
