Kostas Georgallis Appointed Honorary President of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry
He First Joined the Board of Directors in 1993
Kostas Georgallis, former President of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), has been appointed Honorary President by the Chamber's Board of Directors. This honor was announced during the Chamber's annual General Assembly.
As stated in a press release by the Chamber, Kostas Georgallis first joined the Board of Directors on June 17, 1993. He served in this capacity until 1999, when he was elected Vice President, a position he held until 2005. In June 2011, he was elected President of the Board, serving until 2014.
It is noteworthy that for 17 years, Mr. Georgallis actively participated as the first representative of CCCI on the Administrative Board of the General Healthcare System, consulting on governmental bills and regulations that led to the implementation of the National Health System (GeSY).
Additionally, Mr. Georgallis played a key role in the twinning of the Nicosia Chamber with the Chamber of Saudi Arabia. Through joint efforts and recommendations to their respective governments, the two chambers achieved the recognition of the Republic of Cyprus by Saudi Arabia, a milestone pending since 1963.
